What's New:
Take a walk down Memory Lane with our Block of the Month series for 2009! This quilt project will roll out in monthly installments and features some of my favorite traditional quilt blocks. The SEVENTH block is now online and ready to print and sew. To get started, take a look at the Introduction.
Using the square in the corner technique, our new quilt block pattern "Chain Link" is easy enough for beginners! This pieced quilt block pattern finishes up at 12" x 12".
Here's a new quilt block pattern from Block Central. It is called "Chinese Lantern" and is a 6" finished size foundation paper pieced quilt block pattern.
Here's a super easy quilt that you can whip up in a short time! It is called "Boxy Moxie" and is easy enough for beginners. The quilt measures 76" x 76" and uses simple shapes.
We've got a new lap quilt project for you to enjoy! It is called "Winter Warmup" and with frost nipping at our noses, the timing is perfect! It measures 61" x 61" and features a pieced border.
Our 2008 Block of the Month Series, "Somewhere In Time" is finished! The December quilt block, Poinsettia, is online and ready for you to print and sew. You'll find the block link, fabric requirements
and
cutting instructions on the introduction page. Take a look here! As usual, this block of the month series will archived on the website, so if you haven't started this project, you will have plenty of time to catch up.
Here's a yummy Grape Basket Quilt that would look great displayed on a table or on the wall! It is pieced and measures 20-1/2" square. If you are into small quilts, you'll want to give this one a try! You'll
find the pattern here.
A common scenario for quilters is trying to figure out how many width of fabric strips to cut in order to get the number of squares that a pattern calls for. You have to pull out the old calculator, figure out how many squares a single strip will
yield from the width of fabric that you are using, and divide the number of squares you need by the number of squares a single strip will yield. Hmmm...that can get complicated. I've created an online tool that will tell you the number of strips you need to cut simply by answering three easy questions. You can even print out the results, just in case you are forgetful (like me)! Give it a try, you just might find yourself spending less time calculating and more time making quilts!
You'll find the calculator here.
