Newsletter Frequently
Asked Questions:
Q: "My
email address has changed. Can you send the
newsletter to my new address?"
A: No.
I can't change your email address in the subscriber
list, because Yahoo does not allow me to do this.
You will have to make the change yourself.
Here is how it's done:
To unsubscribe
your old address, send a blank email (from your
old email address) to: blockcentral-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
. You will receive a confirmation email from
Yahoo and you must follow the instructions in the
email to remove the old address.
To subscribe
your new address, send a blank email (from your
new email address) to: blockcentral-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
. You will receive a confirmation email from
Yahoo and you must follow the instructions in the
email to confirm your new address.
Q: "I
have a friend who would like to subscribe. Can
you add them to the subscriber list?"
A: Our
newsletter is "double opt-in". This
means that someone must request to receive the newsletter
and must CONFIRM that they wish to receive the newsletter
by following the instructions in the confirmation
email. So the answer to this question is "no".
I can not add email addresses to the subscriber
list myself. Your friend will have to sign
up by using the form above.
Q: "I
no longer wish to receive the newsletter, how can
I unsubscribe?"
A. At
the bottom of every newsletter you will find instructions
on how to unsubscribe. You can simply send
a blank email to blockcentral-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
and confirm your wish to unsubscribe by following
the instructions in the unsubscribe confirmation
email. If this doesn't work, you can always
email
me and I will remove your email address
from the subscriber list.
Q: "I'm
a subscriber but I'm suddenly not receiving my newsletter.
What has happened?"
A. Thanks
to the spammers of the world, most ISP's and webmail
services have taken measures to protect their customers
from the enormous amount of spam that is currently
being sent through the internet. Spam filters
are not human and have no way of knowing what you
have subscribed to and what you have not. Sometimes
a phrase in our newsletter will trip these filters.
I always scan the newsletter for words that
might not get through (like "free") and
try to reword it so that it will be acceptable.
Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't.
If you miss an issue, please email
me and let me know. I will scan the issue
again to try to figure out what tripped the filters
so that the next issue can (hopefully) get through.
Q: "I
accidentally deleted my newsletter. How can
I get another copy?"
A. Easy!
Just visit our newsletter
page at Yahoo Groups and you can read all
of the issues that have been archived there.
