Sewing Instructions:
Step 1:
Layer a Color E (cream) 3-7/8" triangle on a Color C (tan) 3-7/8"
triangle, right sides together. Stitch as shown below. Press the seam
allowance toward the darker fabric and trim points. Make 4. (Each unit
should measure 3-1/2".)

Step 2:
Layer a Color E (cream) 2-7/8" triangle on a Color C (tan) 2-7/8"
triangle, right sides together. Stitch as shown below. Press the seam
allowance toward the darker fabric and trim points. Make 8. (Each
unit should measure 2-1/2".)

Step 3:
Stitch a Color E (cream) 2-7/8" triangle to one short side of a Color
B (pink) 5-1/4" triangle, as shown below. Press seam allowance toward
the darker fabric and trim point. Repeat on the opposite, as shown.
Make 4. (Each unit should measure 2-1/2" x 4-1/2".)

Step 4:
Stitch a Color B (pink) 5-1/4" triangle to the left and right sides of
a Color C (tan) 4-1/2" square. Press the seam allowances toward the
darker Color C fabric and trim points. Next, stitch a Color B (pink)
5-1/4" triangle to the top and bottom of the same Color C (tan) square,
as shown below. Press the seam allowances toward the Color C (tan)
fabric and trim points. Make 1.

Step 5:
Stitch a Color A (red) 4-7/8" triangle to opposite sides of the Step
4 unit. Press seam allowances toward the Color A (red) fabric and trim
points. Repeat on the two remaining sides, as shown below. Make 1.
(This unit should measure 8-1/2".)

Step 6:
Stitch a Step 2 half-square triangle unit to the left and right ends
of a Step 3 flying geese unit, as shown below. Press seam allowance
toward the Step 3 flying geese unit. Make 4. (Each unit should
measure 2-1/2" x 8-1/2".)

Step 7:
Stitch a Step 6 unit to the left and right sides of the Step 5 unit,
taking care to match the points. Press the seam allowances toward the
Step 5 unit.

Step 8:
Stitch a Color C (tan) 2-1/2" square to the left and right ends of a
Step 6 unit. Press the seam allowances toward the Color C squares.
Make 2. (Each unit should measure 2-1/2" x 12-1/2".)

Step 9:
Stitch a Step 8 unit to the top and bottom of the Step 7 unit, as
shown below. Take care to match points. Press the seam allowances
toward the Step 5 unit. At this point, your block should measure
12-1/2" on each side.

Step 10:
Stitch a Step 1 unit to the left and right ends of a Color D (green)
3-1/2" x 12-1/2" rectangle, as shown below. Press the seam allowances
toward the Color D fabric. (Each unit should measure 3-1/2" x 18-1/2".)

Step 11:
Stitch a Color D (green) 3-1/2" x 12-1/2" rectangle the left and
right sides of the Step 9 unit. Press the seam allowances toward the
Color D fabric.

Step 12:
Stitch a Color D (green) 3-1/2" x 12-1/2" rectangle the left and
right sides of the Step 9 unit. Press the seam allowances toward the
Color D fabric.

Your block should
measure 18-1/2" at this point. It will measure 18" when it is sewn into the
quilt.
